Frequently asked questions
Think of it as a joyful mix of lifestyle, documentary storytelling, classic portraiture, and a pinch of fine art — shaken, not stirred. I love playing with colour and contrast to make your visuals pop, but I also have a soft spot for the quiet power of black and white (because sometimes less really is more).
For me, it’s never just about snapping a pretty photo. It’s about uncovering the layers of who you are and what your brand stands for — with heart, humour, and a touch of the unexpected.
During the session, we’ll capture moments that feel true to you — portraits that show your character and images that bring your brand’s story to life. We’ll work together to make sure every shot has meaning and energy, whether it’s a bold statement or a subtle expression.
You’re not just hiring someone with a camera — you’re getting a creative partner, an art director, and occasionally, the person who says, “Let’s shoot from the bathtub — trust me.” But only if it fits your story.
Nope. This isn’t your standard white-background, click-to-cart kind of deal. While we can photograph your products as part of your story, the spotlight stays on you — your personality, your values, your brand’s emotional heartbeat.
This isn’t e-commerce. This is essence. It’s about creating images that truly represent you, not just the things you sell. Less about selling items, more about telling your unique story.
That’s absolutely fine. I work with all kinds of people — from engineers and therapists to chefs, florists, and coaches. If you like my style and want to bring something fresh and unexpected into your brand, we’ll create something that feels true to you. Whether your story calls for bold colour or quiet minimalism, I’ll adapt to your tone. My work is about people, not templates.
I’m all about unique and original ideas! If your vision doesn’t quite fit into any of my standard packages — whether that means a big family gathering, a team shoot, bouncing between multiple locations, or a wild, one-of-a-kind concept — just give me a shout.
Share your ideas, and we’ll brainstorm how to make them happen. Plus, I’ll whip up a custom estimate tailored just for you. Because every great story deserves its own spotlight.
Think of One Hour, One Story as the “grab-and-go” version of my portrait work — designed for people who love my style but don’t need the full brand experience. It’s quick, minimal, and guided entirely by my artistic eye.
The Personal Branding session, on the other hand, is a collaborative process tailored to your goals, story, and audience. It includes planning consultations, a visual concept, multiple outfits and looks, and — most importantly — your input at every stage: from image selection to retouching feedback.
Another key difference?
One Hour, One Story can be booked on short notice, as long as I have availability — perfect for spontaneous souls.
Personal Branding requires a minimum of three weeks’ notice so we have time to prepare, plan, and get everything just right.
In short:
→ One Hour, One Story is for when you want a beautiful portrait without diving into the details.
→ Personal Branding is for when you’re ready to invest in a fully custom visual narrative.
Ah, the magical in-between!
Maybe you don’t need a six-week branding deep dive, but also don’t want to squeeze your vision into a one-hour shoot with no input.
Maybe you saw a past session I did and thought, “That. I want that.”
Or maybe you have a specific idea, vibe, or location in mind that doesn’t quite fit into either box.
Here’s the deal: I’m always open to creative, one-of-a-kind requests — especially if you’ve fallen in love with a certain feel, mood, or concept I’ve done before.
If you’re not sure which package fits, just reach out and tell me what you have in mind. I’ll let you know what’s possible and send a custom quote if it makes sense.
No pressure, no formality — just two humans figuring out if we can make something beautiful together.
Because some stories don’t fit in a box. And that’s okay.
I'm located in Coquitlam and serve most of Greater Vancouver. A travel fee applies for locations outside my immediate area, and I’m happy to provide the details when you book your session.
Just reach out and say hi! You can fill out the application form to get things rolling, or drop me a message if you have questions or just want to chat. No smoke signals or carrier pigeons needed — though I’m open to trying those, too!
I require at least three weeks’ notice to book a full branding session. For the smoothest experience (and to avoid any last-minute scrambling), aim for 1.5 to 2 months ahead. That gives us time to plan, prep, and maybe even find your lucky socks for the shoot!
One HOUR ONE STORY sessions are more flexible and can be booked anytime, depending on my schedule — perfect for a spontaneous burst of brilliance.
The site visit is key—it usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours. We’ll explore the location, discuss ideas, wardrobe, props, and the overall aesthetic. It also helps us connect before the shoot and makes the actual session feel natural and relaxed.
No worries — this is a collaboration, not a one-way street. If the initial idea doesn’t feel quite right, I’m happy to refine it or suggest an alternative. The most important thing is that the concept feels true to you and your story.
That said, I don’t create endless concepts on demand — each idea takes time, care, and a good bit of creative energy (sometimes even a dance with a prop box). But if you’ve found your way to my work, chances are something already resonated — maybe the colours, the mood, the unexpected twist. That means we’re already speaking the same visual language. We just need to find the right words together.
Yes — if we're doing a full personal branding session, I’m your wardrobe co-pilot. We’ll go through your closet together (no judgment, promise!) and find the pieces that tell your story best.
For One Hour One Story sessions, I don’t offer individual styling, but there’s a handy guide on my blog to help you avoid both wardrobe panic and your “just-in-case” sequin jacket — unless that’s the story you want to tell!
For a full personal branding session, think of it as creative play with a purpose. The shoot runs about three hours, giving us plenty of time to follow the plan and embrace those unexpected, magical moments. I typically deliver 50–60 thoughtfully crafted images that highlight your personality, your work, and all the little details that make your brand shine.
There’s room to change outfits, sip your coffee, take a breath, and just be yourself. No rush. No pressure. Just a relaxed, inspiring space where great photos (and the occasional spontaneous dance move) happen naturally.
To lock in your session date (and make sure I don’t run off chasing rainbows or editing someone else’s masterpiece), full payment for the shoot is due at the time of booking — digital files are purchased separately after you’ve seen and selected your favourites. This guarantees that the date is all yours, and I can dedicate time to prep, visit the location, plan the concept, do the shoot, polish your photos — and meet our agreed deadline without turning into a pumpkin.
I get it—life happens! But because I dive right into the fun stuff as soon as you book—like our pre-shoot meetup, brainstorming the concept, helping pick wardrobe and props, and making sure the location feels just right—payments are non-refundable. Think of it as reserving a front-row seat to your own photo adventure.
If something comes up and you need to reschedule, just let me know in advance. I’ll do my best to find a new date that fits your calendar—no sweat, no drama, just a bit of friendly flexibility.
Join the club — most people feel this way! Luckily, you don’t need to know what to do. I’ll gently guide and support you while creating a space where you can feel safe and at ease. There’s no rushing, no forcing, and no pressure to “get it right.” We’ll talk, move, laugh, or just sit quietly — and your real self will come through naturally. You might even end up… enjoying it!
At the moment, I do not include hair and makeup services in my brand photography packages. However, I can recommend talented and experienced HMU artists whom I’ve worked with on my projects, and I’ll provide their contact information once we get started. However you are welcomed to use your own HMU artist.
My sessions are usually held outdoors or indoors at the client’s space to ensure a relaxed and personalized atmosphere. I rarely use studios, but if required, the rental cost will be charged separately.
I’ll email you a link to a private online gallery with your images. After selecting your favourites, you’ll receive high-resolution, edited, and social media-ready photos via Dropbox within 2 weeks. If you need a few preview images for an urgent launch or deadline, just let me know — I’ll do my best to make it happen.
Absolutely! Your pet is part of your story, and I’d love to include them in the session. The only thing is—they should be ready for some fun and not get too interested in eating the props. If your furry (or not so furry) friend has any special habits or needs, just let me know beforehand, and we’ll make sure everything goes smoothly and comfortably!
I usually ask clients to choose two potential dates for outdoor sessions, just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. While I haven’t cracked the secret to controlling the weather yet, I’ll make the final decision about two hours before the shoot. If it’s dry, we’ll go ahead! But if rain is on the horizon and splashing around isn’t your thing, and we can’t find an alternative location, we’ll simply reschedule for your second chosen date.
Just a few simple things to keep the day smooth and stress-free — here’s a mini checklist:
• Get a good night’s sleep (tired eyes aren’t fun for anyone).
• Charge your phone — especially if you’re using it to navigate or bring inspo pics.
• Skip the tight socks if you're planning to wear open shoes (those sock marks are stubborn).
• Wash your hair the night before or morning of — whichever makes you feel your best.
• Have a small makeup bag or touch-up kit on hand.
• Bring clips, pins, or anything you may need for quick fixes.
And most importantly, don’t overthink it. You’ve already done the hard part — now it’s time to enjoy the process.
Yes — with a light artistic touch. You’ll look like you, only with a bit more glow and a little less lint on your shirt. I don’t do drastic edits or change how you look — no hair recoloring, reshaping, or complete transformations.
But I do listen. If something genuinely bothers you, we’ll talk. The final result should reflect your vision, and I’ll always strive for a balance between honesty, beauty, and trust in my aesthetic.
Each selected photo is gently and thoughtfully edited to enhance light, colors, and the overall vibe — while staying true to your natural expression and energy.
