Hymn to Life

This project depicts elderly women who are 76 years old or more and who were born in Soviet Union before or right after World War II and now living in Vancouver. Each of them carries all the memories of their not easy childhood during the war or during the years right after the war when they got great life experiences. Somebody survived the Holocaust. Somebody was kidnapped by gypsies. Somebody had father who was accused of being a Chinese spy, arrested and shot. In spite of their hard lives all these great women kept optimism and ability to enjoy their lives.
